Slack just released its workforce index, and it looks like "AI hype is cooling".
Some key elements:
17 000 workers interviewed
AI use is stalling in US and in France
Around half of the workers wouldn't want to admit to their managers they're using AI ("fells like cheating")
30% have had no AI training at all, and 61% have had less than 5 hours worth
GenZ and Millenials are more likely to turn to AI than a colleague
The full report is available here : https://slack.com/blog/news/the-fall-2024-workforce-index-shows-ai-hype-is-cooling
What do you think ?
"30% have had no AI training at all" -> I thought it'd be a larger proportion
Thanks for sharing Laura. I think the "AI hype is cooling" is no surprise. It goes pretty well with this (shared here too for deeper analysis) one showing that between 2023 and 2024, investments in AI are pretty steady.
My #2cents: after the hype usually comes the "try, test & learn". We are in the middle of it. All for the good. The best is yet to come 😉.
